Following a regrettable article form Resident Advisor last week, redemption appears quickly in the form of this week’s podcast selection from lengendary grime gospel figureheads Dusk + Blackdown. Two artists I have been fortunate enough to meet in a post mentioned earlier, as well as coverage of releases from their Keysound label from Damu, and LHF, members of whom we are humbled to follow on our bi-weekly Sub.FM show, The minds behind the Keysound label, renowned for their label in addition to Martin “Blackdown” Clark’s longtime contributer to Pitchfork’s grime music guide from the during the rise.
Two ace individuals here who I have been fortunate enough to encounter between our various travels, presenting a one hour selection of tunes curated for the Resident Advisor Podcast series.

Grime producer and Butterz cohort S-X lends his production technique for this free album for Indianapolis-based rapper Brian
Posted up on the artist’s Facebook page, S-X has shared the link to an album from Indianapolis rapper Brian for his release titled ‘The End of The Beginning‘
Quite clearly the sounds of S-X but definitely a bit different from the beats we’ve come to expect from him – also, interesting to hear these beats with an American rapper in contrast to the markedly different style of grime MCs.
Honestly, Brian doesn’t do it for me in the vocals department, then again if the MC couldn’t come up with anything more creative for his artist name than simply “Brian,” I shouldn’t have expected much originally. That being said, I sincerely hope there are instrumentals of these floating around for public consumption soon.

First things first, I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to readers of this site old and new. It has been an interesting year for me both on and off this site.
During the beginning of the year I was unable to focus full attention to the site, however I cannot thank people enough for allowing to essentially ‘pick up where we left off‘ and continuing to support the site as things has smoothed out a bit recently.
Continue beneath the fold for more gratitude, looking forward for the site, and an exclusive live dj mix of mine for you to download or stream.
