MAK – Bhasa / About You (EMB012)

Bhasa and About You exhibit MAK’s expressive house influences with two deliberately soulful tracks built on solid rhythm patterns and emotive vocal interplay. Two tracks built for the dancefloor with memorable grooves that remain refresh through subsequent revisits to these selections. Uptempo summer selections for fans of Appleblim, Pearson Sound, and Will Saul.

Mak - Bhasa / About You (EMB012)Leeds-based MAK steps up with two new tracks for the latest release from Atlanta’s Embassy Recordings.

MAK has grown quickly in circles through his own productions as well as collaborations with Pasteman, have made the artist as in demand in the studio as he is behind the decks. With a style that has garnered the attention of Ibiza’s Amnesia as well as the Hot N Heavy and Sounds of Sumo labels, it is understandable why we are excited to have an opportunity to present MAK on Embassy.

Edgewoode – Damn!/Freak! (EMB011)

LIsten to the latest release from Embassy Recordings, two tracks from Mayhem’s “Edgewoode” moniker and a remix from Clicks & Whistles

Atlanta producer Anthony Rotella expounds on his freshly-minted Edgewoode moniker. Following up his spring release for Los Angeles’ based Deceast, Edgewoode returns with two more originals and a remix from Embassy alumni Clicks & Whistles for a decidedly Southern release.

The release’s A-Side Damn! is a peak-hour track combining biting synth and organ interplay over a shuffling drum beat, a nod to the musical landscapes of Edgewoode and Embassy’s Atlanta roots. The flip-side features Freak!, employing a sparse, expressive arrangement that creates a soulful vibe reminiscent of classic g-funk era rap buoyed by an instantly recognizable vocal. Rounding out the release is a rework of Freak! by Charlotte duo Clicks & Whistles, who ratchet the original up in their signature style.

Broodlings (Hunger V)A crew you have probably been sleeping on, Atlanta duo and Embassy Recordings artists Broodlings stepped out on one of their first live performances at the monthly Hunger music event at Atlanta’s 529.

Undeniably the set of the evening (respect to everybody else who played), the two worked through classic 140 bpm favorites including oft overlooked DMZ and Scuba material before ramping it up into some ridiculous footwork blends that had the crowd entranced.

Check beneath the fold for the stream / download info, and the tracklisting!
