It was only a matter of time before Butterz cohort S-X let his trap influenced beats serve as the backdrop for the legitimate rap release.
Posted up on the artist’s Facebook page, S-X has shared the link to an album from Indianapolis rapper Brian for his release titled ‘The End of The Beginning‘
Quite clearly the sounds of S-X but definitely a bit different from the beats we’ve come to expect from him – also, interesting to hear these beats with an American rapper in contrast to the markedly different style of grime MCs.
Honestly, Brian doesn’t do it for me in the vocals department, then again if the MC couldn’t come up with anything more creative for his artist name than simply “Brian,” I shouldn’t have expected much originally. That being said, I sincerely hope there are instrumentals of these floating around for public consumption soon.
The crew at Butterz label have dropped their Summer 2012 ZIP File of freely downloadable grime tunes. This one weighs in hefty at over 700 megs worth of free tunes from the UK label helmed by Elijah and Skilliam, who’s zip files routinely feature artists such as Royal-T, Terror Danjah, and others.

It is that time again, the Butterz label crew is back with their near-monthly ZIP file installment featuring some free exclusive grime beats. This time the near 500mb file features tracks from Royal T, SRC, Trim, S-X, and additionally the a capella from Terror Danjah‘s latest release ‘Full Attention‘ meaning we should see some interesting remixes of the R&G tune popping up soon!

Seriously, the amount of quality music coming from grime label Butterz is unimaginable, especially considering they almost give away as much free music as Napster did in the late 90s. One of the label’s highlights has been their monthly ZIP file, featuring a bunch of freebies from the likes of Royal-T, TRC, S-X, and other regulars on the Butterz label.
Today they dropped the June ZIP file, which comes highly recommended. Free, quality, grime. U daft?

With all the recent appreciation coming to grime with grime podcasts featured in XLR8R, Fact Magazine and Resident Advisor’s well-estabilshed podcasts in addition to the exciting resurgence of grime tunes from producers like Royal T, it’s exciting to see grime music reaching a stage beyond the confines of London.
